Twitter Army Takes Over White House Press Corps; Then the World

The day that the small twitter army dedicated to getting the White House press corps to put up South Park versions of themselves as their icon on Twitter has been working tirelessly towards is now one step closer. Yes, this post is the official proclamation of victory on the #cartoonmajor front of our campaign!

As of today Major Garret of Fox News is SouthParkified!

Here is his tweet of acceptance into the #TWoonhunks twitter army:

#cartoonmajor

From this one small tweet grew an unstoppable movement that has now produced real change.

Where as we used to have but one SouthParkified White House reporter, Jake Tapper of ABC, we now have three. The second convert, who got caught up in the #cartoonmajor saga, is Asylum’s Tommy Christopher. The future is bright for our movement thus we cannot rest on our accomplishments and must continue to fight the good fight until there isn’t a White House press corps twitter icon left standing that hasn’t felt our touch. Onward I say! Onward!

Of course that call leads to the inevitable next question, now that Major Garret is on board who should be next?

The Non-Story That is Karl Rove’s Thank You

Yes, as Tommy Christopher of AOL reported today, Karl Rove did send me a thank you on twitter yesterday.

The reason you didn’t hear about it here is that I wasn’t completely comfortable sharing it publicly because he sent the little thank you through a direct message on Twitter. Which means he may not have wanted it shared publicly. So, if I didn’t post it you may be asking “how did Tommy Christopher end up with it?”.

Well, despite what his post may imply, I met Tommy at CPAC and we talk from time to time. And when I got a direct message from Karl Rove, in my excitement, I told a couple people about it. Tommy was one of them.

In hindsight I probably should have made it completely clear that I was talking strictly off the record but I really didn’t, and still don’t, see the story here. But I guess it just goes to show that you should always be careful when talking to a journalist… and I wasn’t.

Now that Tommy has written his inane piece bashing Rove I suppose it’s my duty to defend Rove a little. Especially since this is such a stupid non-story. Plus… I get the added bonus of taking apart Tommy’s cheer leading for Megsy Mac and that’s always a blast. Continue reading The Non-Story That is Karl Rove’s Thank You

Did Jonah Goldberg Steal a Link From Me?

Well… not exactly. But yes, sort of.

I guess that’s how I would characterize the situation that Tommy Christopher wrote up over at AOL and Daily Dose. The whole thing centers around a tip I sent out this afternoon about CNN’s estimation of the lefty blogosphere.

This is how Tommy characterized what happened thereafter:

What’s interesting is how I found out about the story. I was on an email list for TheCollegePolitico.com, run by Steve Gutowski, a guy that I met at CPAC. I got his tip at 1:55pm. Also on that email were NRO’s Jonah Goldberg, and Captain Ed Morrissey, who used the tip at Hot Air:

CNN asks the question: Whither the liberal blogosphere in the Age of Obama? Mark Preston asks Markos Moulitsas and Jane Hamsher how having a Democratic shutout in Washington DC will affect their blogging (via The College Politico)

See what Ed did there? He credited the source of the tip. Continue reading Did Jonah Goldberg Steal a Link From Me?
