Biden Makes Fun of Obama for Teleprompter Use; UPDATE: Video Added

Biden

In a classically Biden moment our Vice President ripped on our President for his famous reliance on teleprompters. Biden delivered his joke while speaking to new Air Force graduates. From Top of the Ticket:

not content to leave without a jaunty ad lib, Biden noted that heavy winds were gusting through the ceremonies. One of his two teleprompters had toppled over. Alluding to the jokes of Obama’s reliance on the speech-facilitators, Biden added, “What I am going to tell the president when I tell him his teleprompter is broken. What will he do then.”

Oh boy. Please let the man speak more often. Dream Scenario: Obama replaces Gibbs with Biden for Press Secretary… if only.

Inevitable: Vick to Work With Humane Society

michael vick

It’s all part of the celebrity rehabilitation cycle. First comes the atrocious and reprehensible act, in Vick’s case dog fighting, then comes the arrest and legal punishments associated with the crime, in Vick’s case jail time and expulsion from the NFL, and finally the celebrity teams up with whatever major organization usually fights against the atrocious and reprehensible act committed by said celebrity, in Vick’s case the Humane Society.

It’s just like clockwork:

Michael Vick wants to work with an unlikely ally the Humane Society of the United States on a program aimed at eradicating dogfighting among urban teens.

Society president Wayne Pacelle said Tuesday that he recently met with Vick at the federal prison in Leavenworth, Kan., and that Vick said he wants to work with the group once he’s out of federal custody.

Billy Martin, one of Vick’s attorneys, said Vick requested the meeting.

“Michael is very interested in putting this together,” Martin said.

Well… yea, of course Micheal Vick is “very interested” in working with the Humane Society but its probably more because he’s “very interested” in making 8 figures again soon and less because hes “very interested” in ending dog fighting. Now, hopefully I’m wrong but I’ll remain skeptical, along with most everybody else, until Vick has proved he really is remorseful: Continue reading Inevitable: Vick to Work With Humane Society

Songs of the Month

This month’s songs of the month come at the end of the month because it has taken me that long to find some really great new music (or rather, new to me music). But, at last, here it is.

This month’s post is dedicated to one band. Cartel.

Now, I had heard of Cartel several years ago but I hadn’t ever really listened to their music. Luckily, that changed over spring break. One of my friends happened to have a Cartel cd and at some point durring the 30 hours of driving played it.

I love them. Their pop/punkyness comes with a bit of a hard edge at times but is comfortably balanced out by blindingly heart felt balads.

Give them a listen. You won’t regret a moment of it.

Dora the Whore-a?

Check out this little tid-bit from CNN:

I wouldn’t be half surprised if she turns out the be dressed as a hooker. The sexualization of youth knows no boundaries…
