Live Tweeting President Obama’s Speech to the UN

Since I was recently randomly granted press credentials by the white house I figured I’d give covering the President a shot. So I now present, in chronological order, my live tweeting of President Obama’s speech to the United Nations as I heard it: Obama: “bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla *head swivel* bla bla bla *head swivel* bla bla bla bla” Obama: “bla bla bla bla cleavage bla bla bla in this body bla bla bla”

A Few Notes On the POLITICO Situation

There’s a couple more things I think I should say about this whole nightmare… First, I want to take this time to thank everybody for the outpouring of support that I’ve received up until now. I can’t say thank you enough. Second, I think it’s important to note, as Ed Morrissey and Instapundit do, that POLITICO easily could have taken a much more civil and decent approach to this if they were really concerned about people confusing my site with theirs… I most certainly would have been open to working with them to figure something out. Now, instead, I’m going

POLITICO Threatens to Sue Me

Today I received a cease and desist letter from Dow Lohnes PLLC on behalf of Capitol News Company LLC which is the publisher of POLITICO. They claim that my domain name “thecollegepolitico.com” and its contents are “confusingly similar” to their trademarks. They then make absurd unfounded claims that I somehow specifically choose to use the term “politico” in my name to steal their readers and confuse them into thinking that POLITICO is a tiny conservative college opinion blog run by a single person. They replay this same argument several times and then “demand” that I, within 10 days, stop all use

The day that the small twitter army dedicated to getting the White House press corps to put up South Park versions of themselves as their icon on Twitter has been working tirelessly towards is now one step closer. Remembering that day

If you’ve visited my blog before you probably know that I try to post an article one or twice a day on the news surrounding political events of the day. However, on this day, I feel it necessary to forgo my usual routine and take this time to remember. However, at the same time, I feel that anything I try and write here will inevitably fall short of what is required to honor those who gave their lives that day. Instead I will leave you with a video tribute. It is a simple slide show of pictures set to the

Is Obama dumb or does he just play dumb when it suits him?

When I look at this latest Gaffe that’s the question I’m left with. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPd4yk0x-eg The important line to note in the video is “You know, you can put lipstick on a pig but it’s still a pig.” Now, yes, that is a common saying in politics and, yes, even McCain has used it before (though he was calling a piece of legislation a pig and not people). So to someone who doesn’t follow politics in any way shape or form it might not seem like a big deal at all. But for everyone else in the world its obvious that

Oprah pulls an “Us Weekly” and pisses off fans by dissing Palin UPDATE: (many) Others jump on the “Us Weekly” boat

Apparently Oprah Winfrey and Us Weekly (and now MTV) need to do a little more market research and figure out that their audience consists of more that Huffpo readers and Obamatons because today the Drudge Report broke a story which claimed that Oprah is ignoring fans and staff requests to book Republican Vice Presidential pick Sarah Palin. And according to Oprah’s response Drudge was wrong. You see, Oprah didn’t block Palin from coming on the show… as Oprah tells it, she never even considered it. Way to tamp down the controversy, people were upset that you didn’t want to book
