The Non-Story That is Karl Rove’s Thank You

Yes, as Tommy Christopher of AOL reported today, Karl Rove did send me a thank you on twitter yesterday.

The reason you didn’t hear about it here is that I wasn’t completely comfortable sharing it publicly because he sent the little thank you through a direct message on Twitter. Which means he may not have wanted it shared publicly. So, if I didn’t post it you may be asking “how did Tommy Christopher end up with it?”.

Well, despite what his post may imply, I met Tommy at CPAC and we talk from time to time. And when I got a direct message from Karl Rove, in my excitement, I told a couple people about it. Tommy was one of them.

In hindsight I probably should have made it completely clear that I was talking strictly off the record but I really didn’t, and still don’t, see the story here. But I guess it just goes to show that you should always be careful when talking to a journalist… and I wasn’t.

Now that Tommy has written his inane piece bashing Rove I suppose it’s my duty to defend Rove a little. Especially since this is such a stupid non-story. Plus… I get the added bonus of taking apart Tommy’s cheer leading for Megsy Mac and that’s always a blast. Continue reading “The Non-Story That is Karl Rove’s Thank You”

NYT Sued Over Story Implying McCain Had an Affair

The Associated Press is reporting that the lobbyist the New York Times insinuated had an affair with John McCain (here is some background information on the NYT piece) has filed suit against the paper to the tune of $27 million:

A Washington lobbyist sued The New York Times for $27 million Tuesday over an article that she says gave the false impression she had an affair with Sen. John McCain in 1999.

Vicki L. Iseman filed the defamation suit in U.S. District Court in Richmond. It also names as defendants the Times’ executive editor, its Washington bureau chief and four reporters. Continue reading “NYT Sued Over Story Implying McCain Had an Affair”

Its time to blacklist some McCain aides

Specifically the ones leaking seemingly (or should I say OBVIOUSLY) made up stories about Sarah Palin.

Here’s the video of Fox New’s unprofessional hit job where they pass along completely and utterly unsubstantiated smears leaked from some McCain aides (via Hotair):

How pathetic has the elitist jackass (in the democrat sense) wing of the party gotten? I mean, seriously, these stories are more ridiculous than the fake pregnancy allegations when Palin was nominated AND they didn’t even have the guts to say this things on the record. Now, in my mind, Palin may just be McCain without the baggage but she certainly isn’t stupid. But even if these idiotic stories are true these aides would still have violated the 11th commandment by going to the media with internal campaign conflicts… its just unforgivable.

I think that these aides should be the first on the 2008 Republican purge list. Some people simply must go whether its because they are a sheep in wolf’s clothing (aka a dem in everything but name) or because they can’t stop slandering members of their own party or, like these McCain aides, a heavy combination of both.

If anybody has any information on who these aides are please contact me.

Lets start the purging immediately (some names have been named).

Shocking degradation we all must fight against

First and foremost is the case of this video from Students for Life of America where they get Planned Parenthood to admit that they perform infanticide:

Please donate to them and help Students for Life fight infanticide and abortion if you are able.

The second case of shocking degradation is brought to us by our old media friends at the Los Angeles Times. You see, the LA Times happens to have a tape of Barack Obama giving a toast to terrorist mouthpiece Rashid Khalidi during a farewell diner in Khalidi’s honor back in 2003. Sounds like a huge news story right?

Well, not if your the Los Angeles Times I guess. They have refused to release the video to the public. Now, they’ve given several different reasons why since this story came to light but I think their motives are pretty obvious (especially if these claims prove to be true). They simply don’t want to hurt their candidate, sure the LA Times will say that they were the ones who first reported about the tape, but we all know that video of Obama praising a nut job like Khalidi would hurt him far more than a description of Obama speaking at an event involving a nut job like Khalidi, especially when that description is written by a hack organization like the LA Times.

There is a protest being organized against the LA Times today so try to make it if you can

McCain ahead in Ohio and Florida, gains in Colorado

McCain 49% and Obama 47% in Ohio

McCain 49% and Obama 48% in Florida

McCain up a point against Obama in Colorado since the 5th (still down by 4%)

Here’s the details

So lets stop all this idiotic panic please. I mean seriously, Obama is running in a dead give away Democrat year with about a 4:1 money advantage and McCain is still within the margin of error nationally and in most important states. Obama couldn’t be a weaker candidate…

It’s gonna be close, just like the past two elections. You know, ever since the current red/blue demographics were aligned. Seems to me that despite all the rhetoric about changing the dynamics the election is going to be won or lost in the same states as ’00 and ’04. And it will probably come down to each parties get out the vote operations, just like the past two elections.

So, really, the fact that McCain never fell more than, say, 8 points behind nationally (and I don’t even think it got that bad in most battleground states) at his worst and the fact that he is pretty much back to even now should make us all very happy. After all, who had the better GOTV operations in ’00 and ’04? And while Obama may have made up ground its still widely recognized that the GOP has much larger and better voter information databases.

Honestly, people, recent history tells us that McCain is in good shape. Heck I might even consider him the front runner at this point.

Hey someone in the media finally gets it!

Shocking, I know.

But true.

Just check out Jonathan Martin’s article over at The Politico. Its about how McCain will be called a racist no matter what.

Sure its something that’s been obvious for months but, hey, give him credit for figuring it out at all.

P.s. Someone should send this to McCain and tell him to start making Rev. Wright an issue again. Its not racist by any means and its completely relevant.  After all he attended that nut job “church” for twenty years yet he still tries to claim that he has good judgement… its a joke waiting for a punch line. Start swinging McCain.
