Oprah’s calculated, childish, highly public whining was meant to get a rise out of the Palin camp. I’m sorry that Sarah didn’t actually snub her… not on purpose mind you, because I don’t think Sarah would be deliberately mean-spirited like that. More along the lines of “Don’tcha know, that would take a whole heck of a lot of oil to get me, here in Alaska, to and from Chicago, too much for Joe Six-Pack to pay for, and isn’t Harpo Productions in the land of lawless, evil thugs politicians? Hooo, boy, maybe not this time ’round, OK?”

Oprah and Palin should be able to like whoever they want to like, too bad public scrutiny makes such a decision more complicated for them than it otherwise would be for an average person

Chances are that Oprah would do everything she could to screw over Gov. Palin. And there is no upside for the governor. So she should just be polite and go on with her life.
